At Hillcrest Community Church, our mission is to be In the City, for the Nations. God has a heart for the nations and we are committed to being a part of taking the Gospel to all of them.
Becoming a part of Hillcrest Community Church means joining a family that is committed to being a part of a disciple-making movement. We offer various ministries and opportunities for people to discover Jesus for the first time or continue following Him into what He has called each person.

We invite you to explore our beliefs and join us in our pursuit of living out our faith in boldness and passion.
The foundation of our church is the belief in our risen savior, Jesus Christ, God’s son.
God is the Creator and Ruler of the universe. He has eternally existed as the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. The three are co-equal and are one God.
Genesis 1:1 | Genesis 26 | Genesis 27 | Genesis 3:22 | Psalm 90:2 | Matthew 28:19 | 1 Peter 1:2 | 2 Corinthians 13:14
Jesus lived a sinless human life and offered Himself as the perfect sacrifice for the sins of all people by dying on a cross. He arose from the dead after three days to demonstrate His power over sin and death. He ascended to Heaven and will return again someday to earth to reign as King.
Matthew 1:22 | Matthew 23 | Isaiah 9:6 | John 1:1-5 | John 14:10-30 | Hebrews 4:14-15 | 1 Corinthians 15:3-4 | Romans 1:3-4 | Acts 1:9-11 | 1 Timothy 6:14-15 | Titus 2:13
The Holy Spirit is present in the world to make men aware of their need for Jesus Christ. He provides Christians with power for living, understanding of spiritual truth, and guidance in doing what is right. He gives every believer spiritual gifts when they are saved. As Christians we seek to live under His control daily.
Acts 1:8 | 1 Corinthians 3:17 | John 16:7-13 | John 14:16-17 | Galatians 5:25 | 1 Corinthians 2:12 | 1 Corinthians 3:16 | Ephesians 1:13 | Ephesians 5:18
The Bible was written by human authors, under the supernatural guidance of the Holy Spirit. It is the supreme source of truth for Christian beliefs about living. Because it is inspired by God, it is truth without error.
2 Timothy 3:16 | Timothy 1:13 | 2 Peter 1:20-21 | Psalm 119:105 | Psalm 160 | Psalm 12:6 | Proverbs 30:5
People are made in the spiritual image of God, to be like Him in character. Although every person has tremendous potential for good, all of us are marred by an attitude of disobedience toward God called “sin.” Sin separates us from God and causes many problems in our life.
Genesis 1:27 | Psalm 8:3-6 | Isaiah 53:6 | Romans 3:23 | Isaiah 59:1-2
We can never make up for our sin by self-improvement or good works. Only by trusting in Jesus Christ as God’s offer of forgiveness can anyone be saved from sin’s penalty. When we turn from our self-ruled life and turn to Jesus in faith we are saved. Eternal life begins the moment one receives Jesus Christ into his life by faith.
Romans 6:23 | Ephesians 2:8-9 | John 14:6 | John 1:2 | Titus 3:5 | Galatians 3:26 | Romans 5:1 | Romans 10:9-10
People were created to exist forever. We will either exist eternally separated from God by sin or eternally with God through forgiveness and salvation. To be eternally separated from God is hell. To be eternally in union with Him is eternal life in Heaven. Heaven and hell are real places of eternal existence.
John 3:16 | John 14:17 | Romans 6:23 | Romans 8:17-18 | Revelation 20:15 | 1 Corinthians 2:7-9
Once we have accepted Jesus as our Lord and Savior, baptism is a way for us to publicly declare our new life in Christ. It is also a step of obedience based on God’s commands and allows us to follow the example of Jesus, who submitted himself to baptism to “fulfill all righteousness.”
Matthew 3:16-17 | Matthew 28:18-20
We accomplish the mission In the City, for the Nations by equipping everyone in our faith family to be a part of the "everyday, everyone disciple-making movement among all people groups both here and there".
We believe a disciple will show 3 key characteristics in their lives and that a disciple will consistently do 3 key actions.
Everything we do as a church is to equip followers of Jesus to be a part of this disciple-making movement.
“If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves…”
Humble disciples serve. Are you serving in an area of the church? Do you celebrate the success of other disciples? Are you seeking the approval of God or man?
“…and will pray and seek my face…”
Hungry disciples want more of God. Are you spending time in scripture? Are you spending consistent time in prayer? Are you faithfully attending worship services?
“…and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.” 2 Chronicles 7:14
Holy disciples seek godliness. Are you surrounding yourself with accountability? Are you practicing repentance? Are you surrendered?
A disciple of Christ will abide with Him. Are you spending time in His word? Are you spending time in prayer? Are you exercising your gifts by serving the church?
A disciple of Christ will embrace commuinty among other believer. Do you have close relationships to others that you can do life with, share your struggles with, and be held accountable by?
A disciple of Christ is called to carry the Gospel to all corners of the world. How confident are you to share the Gospel and your testimony? When is the last time you shared? How often do you pray for the lost here and there?
